NICO Marsec Service Solutions

We understand the security threats when your commercial vessel is transiting through high risk areas in and around Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea, to either a port, sea or offshore terminal. Hostile elements have high probability of targeting commercial shipping with relative ease, due to lack of a conducive task force to combat acts of piracy, kidnapping or robberies, in West African countries.

Our Nigerian offices are situated in Ikoyi & Apapa, Lagos. We also have satellite offices in Cameroon, Benin, Togo and Ghana. Our base gives us excellent central access to waterways and other key locations, and this helps us to monitor security threats and take proactive steps to avert them.

We conduct a detailed threat analysis coupled with vulnerable vessel analysis, to facilitate effective countermeasures and strategic protection. The movement profile and cargo of any vessel is balanced against the current level of threat, which is a combination threat analysis, not only of the Nigerian local onshore and offshore environment, but also the threat profile created by your vessel. The size of the vessel including its freeboard, speed, cargo and BMP WAF implementation will help generate the associated threat levels. Of course, we understand time is of essence once the threat analysis is drawn. Information and workable intelligence have a life span, so a report and subsequent considerations are only relevant within a short time frame that current events and frequency of incidents allow.

Once a detailed threat analysis is drawn, it becomes possible to tailor our security solutions towards an optimal option. It might encompass provision of an armed escort vessel, naval patrol vessel, or simple placement of armed naval team on-board the vessel with one of our dedicated, trained retired host nation Naval personnel.
